When we purchased our first outdated 70's home, I had the goal of making spaces beautiful and functional for my family. I quickly learned how much it was going to cost to hire out all of the work. So began my DIY adventures. Through those adventures, I was selected as a Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker. I'm no professional. I am simply learning as I go and proving that you don't have to be an expert to tackle projects on your own.
I believe that creating a space that you love isn't just about having fun. I believe whole-heartedly that it is more about expressing yourself and discovering what sparks joy in you. For me, those thrift shop finds are the source of so much joy. I love finding pieces and giving them another chance to to be enjoyed. DIY is also a way of showing myself that I am capable of doing difficult things.
My hope is to inspire you to try, encourage you to not give up, and equip you to be intentional about the spaces you create one coat of paint at a time.
